Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a safe and happy holiday season!
We kick off the show with a discussion about the Boston Bruins. When we last talked about this team, they were struggling to stay afloat. Now, just weeks later, they are surging… and rising towards the top of the conference. So what happened? Have the Bruins finally figured out how to turn their season around? We break it all down. We also talk about the Carolina Hurricanes. This is another team that was near the “bottom of the barrel” just a month ago. After playing a month of solid hockey, the Canes are knocking on the playoff door, and could be a dangerous team down the stretch… but will a grueling schedule ahead keep them from getting in? We end the first round by diving into the most recent news concerning New York Islanders forward, John Tavares. The Isles have just announced their plans to leave Barclays Center… which has Isles fans jumping for joy… but will this development be enough to convince Tavares to stay with the team? We give our opinions, and tell you how we see things shaping up for the future.
During the second round, we talk about the Las Vegas Golden Knights. This team is showing no signs of slowing down, but with several players about to become unrestricted free agents, what moves will the team make as they prepare for a playoff push? Will we see some last minute moves, or will they choose to stay pat. We also discuss other big names of the league that are about to become free agents. What will players like San Jose Sharks center, Joe Thornton, and Las Angeles Kings defenseman, Drew Doughty do. Will they end up staying put… or is there a chance that a change of scenery is in the near future.
We close out our show with a look at the recent release of Jaromir Jagr. Cut from the Calgary Flames, will he ever have a chance to finish his run at Gordie Howe’s NHL games record? We weigh his options.
Music for today’s show is provided by our friends in the band “Autumn Fire”. (Yoshi’s band)
